How to Be a Good Caregiver

Thursday, November 9, 4:00-5:00pm
1955 Randi Drive, Aurora

Jill Setork, Program Coordinator for Waterford Place Cancer Resource Center, will present on healthy communication after a loved one receives a cancer diagnosis. Often, when a person is diagnosed with cancer, navigating the journey can be an overwhelming experience. Getting support can greatly lessen the negative impact and improve quality of life for all involved. Knowing how to communicate both as the patient and the caregiver is important. Learn more about how patients can take an active role in their well-being and what loved ones can say and do to feel more confident in the caregiving role. During this short talk, you will gain insight and tools, as well as find out more about helpful resources. Additionally, you will learn about the free psychosocial services available to all those impacted by cancer at Waterford Place and how they can help both the patient and caregiver live well before, during and after cancer treatment. Waterford Place offers a variety of programs including yoga classes, support groups, cooking demonstrations and salon services. Join us for this brief talk to hear more.
